The best Halloween plans are conceived in September, but how can you now organise a group costume theme for this year’s celebrations in good time? Let Halloween HQ help!
Whether it’s a group of friends, a posse of children going out trick or treating, or a outing with colleagues, what are the most popular group costumes we’re seeing for Halloween in 2026? The early online and in-store trends suggest some of our annual staples will be among the most popular sellers yet again, alongside with some emerging new ideas.
As our preparations for spooky season continue, top asks from customers include:
· Superheroes & Villains
· Film & Movies, including Disney characters
· Witches
· Zombie characters
· Inflatable costumes
Superheroes & Villains
Whether everyone chooses to be a well-known Superhero, including Superman, Spiderman, and Batman, or they turn to the dark side and embrace the Joker, Darth Vader, or Freddy Krueger, Halloween HQ caters for all desires. As part of this growing group costumes trend, we also see groups mixing their approach with both superheroes and their enemies heading out together in one ensemble on the night. All requirements can be purchased online, with quick delivery, expert support on site, and 1000s of ideas to pick from.
Film & Movies, including Disney
Inspired by all the classics, princess costumes are ever popular this year with a range of matching and unique options available from Halloween HQ to suit all tastes. However, a notable new trend emerging is the scary and freaky presence of Cat in the Hat, an ideal troublemaker for giving frights. If you truly want to spook your neighbours and stand out amongst your group, this is a great option for Halloween celebrations in 2026.
Wicked Witches
Inspired by the Wicked movies, long-time favourites Addam’s Family characters, and the likes of the unforgettable Hocus Pocus film, witches are as popular as ever in 2026. From gorgeous black costumes to pastel colours, greens, hooded capes, pointy hats, and brooms, aspiring witches of all ages will find everything they need at Halloween HQ, but you’ll need to bring your own black cat!
Zombie wars
Any year, another zombie game… and we also see the spike in interest in zombie costumes and accessories here at Halloween HQ and our pop-up shops across Ireland. Full costumes for zombie boys, girls and adults are available along with Zombie make-up kits, accessories, and fake blood sprays. Everything for a gory evening!
Inflatable costumes
And last, but not least: another emerging trend for groups: matching inflatable Halloween costumes. Whether the theme is dinosaurs, animals, or aliens, inflatables are a great option for bringing humour to your Halloween activities, with sizes available for Adults and Kids alike. Who doesn’t like to see an Inflatable Baby walking down the road on October 31st?
